Best Calphalon Cookware Sets 2017

June 20, 2017 By Tina

If fiery hot cooking is what you often do, make sure you take a look at Calphalon cookware. I’ve used so many brands before, and I feel Calphalon has the best features to handle the heat. High heat stove top cooking and oven broiling weren’t an issue for my Calphalon cookware. Never once did I notice any warping or degradation. Calphalon cookware is also an eye candy; not only does it cook food evenly, it looks amazing doing it.

Every cookware brand has its own signature formula to manufacture amazing cookware, and Calphalon is no different. Everything that ranges from its non-stick cookware to its clad stainless steel cookware has precisely crafted elements to stand out from the crowd. Even the exterior of the Calphalon cookware isn’t neglected. Calphalon cookware has a clean exterior and a smooth finish that ensures durability and provides visual beauty.

Calphalon Stainless Cookware Set

simply calphalon

If you’re looking for a stainless steel 10-piece cookware set, the Simply Calphalon cookware set may be a set you’d want to check out. Since I love sauteing and browning which require a high degree of heat, I love this 18/10 brushed stainless steel cookware , as it’s able to handle the heat very well.

Calphalon threw stockpots, saucepans and even lids into the mix. For the casual home chef like me all of these cookware would be more than enough to prepare excellent home cooked meals. These cookware and the aluminium core helped with even heating and cooking. So to sum it up, this will be a worthy investment because not only will it be long lasting, it looks pretty good too.

These pots and pans clean up real easy too. You have the option of using soap and water or tossing them into the dishwasher (gently, please). Either way compared to other cookware I’ve used, cooking and clean up is just a breeze with this Calphalon cookware set.

Calphalon Copper Cookware Set

calphalon tri ply copper set

The Calphalon Tri-Ply copper cookware set bring out the excellent heat conductivity copper has.

This 10-piece cookware set has a combined form of three different types of materials to ensure your cooking is safe and the food is evenly cooked. Copper is known to be highly reactive to ingredients that have a high acidic rating or a high alkalic rating. So to utilize the efficient conductivity of copper and to combat the reactivity issue, Calphalon bonded the copper layer below a layer of aluminium and an interior stainless steel finish. The aluminum layer helps even heating and the non-reactive stainless steel finish allows you to cook almost anything on these cookware.

This Calphalon set also has flared rims to ensure easy pouring and no spillage. Aside from all the user friendly features, the Calphalon Tri-ply copper cookware set is oven and broiler safe up to a whooping 450 degrees. I love the stay cool V shaped handles that is a safety feature everyone needs.

Calphalon Hard Anodized Cookware Set

calphalon commercial

For a really hardy set of cookware, you should look at the Calphalon Commercial hard anodized cookware set with a lifetime warranty. If that isn’t a testament to the quality of the cookware set I don’t know what is. Cooking with hard anodized cookware is great. Heat distributes evenly so your food gets cooked perfectly.

The price of the set isn’t very high for such a quality set of cookware. The best part of the set was, thanks to the ergonomic stay cool handles these pieces of cookware, I didn’t even need mitts to handle these pots and pans.

I totally get it if Calphalon isn’t your thing so I have taken the liberty of including recommendations of other cookware from some of the other brands I’ve used. Check out cookware from All Clad or the ever so famous, Rachael Ray . Anolon Cookware Reviews of 2017

May 23, 2017 By elliot

Although the nonstick cookware was invented by Tefal, it was Anolon whom helped popularize it. Credited for launching the hard-anodized nonstick cookware with smooth interior in 1989, it provided the cookware the durability and longevity people were looking for. All of this was made possible due to anodizing, which, in case you didn’t know, is an electrochemical process that physically alters the metal surface especially aluminum. The result is that the aluminum not only becomes stronger than conventional stainless steel but also non-reactive with acidic foods, such as tomato sauce, making it ideal for cookware.

The name Anolon then gets its name from this process, of which it’s also referred to for its cookware collection which spans several product lines. Each product line is made distinct by its material, and depending on the line, Anolon may incorporate either a layer of copper, bronze, or stainless steel into its composition.

If you are looking to get a cookware set with great heat transfer and a proven nonstick surface, then Anolon may just be what you’re looking for.

Here are my Anolon cookware reviews of 2017.

Anolon Nouvelle Copper Hard Anodized Nonstick 11-Piece Cookware Set

Anolon Cookware Reviews - Anolon Nouvelle Copper Hard Anodized Nonstick 11-Piece Cookware Set

What’s included?

  • 1.5-Quart & 3-Quart Covered Saucepans
  • 8-Quart Covered Stockpot
  • 3-Quart Covered Saute with helper handle
  • 8.5″ Skillet
  • 12″ Covered Skillet

The Anolon Nouvelle Copper line features anodized aluminum construction with a layer of copper inside the base, sandwiched between layers of stainless steel. The copper and aluminum provides excellent heat response, and the stainless steel bottom which extends to the sides provides added durability. As the inside of the pans is made of anodized aluminum, it’s metal-utensil safe and won’t scratch or chip easily. Additionally, it also features unique rivets that are flat and nonstick, thereby preventing food buildup.

Whether you are using the Nouvelle Copper line for your electric coil cooktop or induction cooktop, it’s suitable for all types, as its base is, once again, made of stainless steel. Also stainless steel are the lids as well as the handles which are comfortable to hold and oven safe up to 500- F. Only thing, I find, is that the handle is pretty heavy, but it won’t be that noticeable especially when you’re moving food around.

For a reliable, durable cookware that reacts quickly with heat, I think the Anolon Copper line would make a great addition to your kitchenware.

Anolon Advanced Bronze Hard Anodized Nonstick 11-Piece Cookware Set

Anolon Cookware Reviews - Anolon Advanced Bronze Hard Anodized Nonstick 11-Piece Cookware Set

What’s included?

  • 1.5-Quart & 3-Quart Covered Saucepans
  • 8-Quart Covered Stockpot
  • 3-Quart Covered Saute Pan
  • 8″ and 10″ Open Skillets
  • 12″ Shallow Grill Pan

If you’re looking for a little more pizazz in your cookware, the Advanced Bronze line may be more of your thing. With a modern design and rich bronze finish, it can easily spruce up your kitchen decor in a heartbeat. But don’t think it’s all looks though, as the line is also built to deliver enduring performance with its anodized aluminum construction and DuPont Autograph 2 interior, which is a durable, nonstick coating. Heat can be distributed quickly and evenly while also reducing hot spots that can cause food to burn with this construction.

To let you gain more flexibility in your cooking choices, the line is also oven safe up to 400- F. Also oven safe are the handles which are made of a combination of stainless steel and silicone. Additionally, they are also dual riveted to provide added strength. In terms of the lids, they are made of break-resistant glass, which are also easy to see through. The only thing I wish this line would offer is that it’s dishwasher safe, but it’s only metal utensil safe. As such, you will have to hand wash it after every use. The upside is that by doing so, you will retain its shine and luster for years to come.

Anolon Tri-Ply Clad Stainless Steel 12-Piece Cookware Set

anolon cookware reviews - Anolon Tri-Ply Clad Stainless Steel 12-Piece Cookware Set

What’s included?

  • 1-1/2- and 2-Quart Saucepans
  • 3-1/2-Quart Saucepot
  • 4-Quart Saute
  • 8-Quart Stockpot
  • 8-1/2- and 10-1/4″ Skillets

Integrating a mixture of stainless steel and aluminum in its construction is the Anolon Tri-Ply Clad. Induction compatible and stain resistant, this line is as versatile as it is durable. With excellent heat transfer due to its aluminum core, you can easily get a good sear with it. Cooking the perfect steak, then, can be easier to achieve with it, for example. All utensils are oven safe up to 500F including the lids, and they are generously sized.

It is worth noting that the Anolon Tri-Ply Clad uses 18/10 stainless steel. This steel, like most notable steel used in cookware, is composed of 18% chromium and 8% nickel. Chromium protects the steel from rust while nickel enhances the corrosion resistance of the steel. Moreover, this also makes the cookware dishwasher safe, unlike the previous two I’ve covered. Only thing about this line is due to its straight-edge pan, pouring from it will result in dripping. Instead, I would have much preferred it if it was flared edge.

Nevertheless, this line is beautiful, well crafted, and more important, built to last you a lifetime.

KitchenAid Cookware Reviews

March 11, 2017 By Tina

You’ve probably heard of KitchenAid. They’re one of the largest brands for kitchen appliances, small and large. You probably own one of those shiny and brightly colored Kitchen mixers or toasters. If you love KitchenAid appliances, you’ll love KitchenAid cookware as well. The best thing about KitchenAid cookware is that they come in similar aesthetics, so you’ll be able to create a theme for your kitchen.

KitchenAid mainly makes stainless steel cookware and hard anodized non stick cookware , but they do have copper core and aluminum cookware as well. What I love about KitchenAid cookware is that I can easily find a set that is induction-friendly. The performance for most KitchenAid cookware sets is above average too.

KitchenAid Stainless Steel Cookware

KitchenAid KCSS10LS Stainless Steel 10-Piece Cookware Set I love KitchenAid stainless steel cookware. They are affordable, made of high quality stainless steel and cook well. If you’re going for an entire cookware set, I recommend the KitchenAid KCSS10 series. This 10-piece cookware set is just gorgeous in its polished stainless steel finish , which is my favorite, but you could also go for the same set in their signature Empire Red or Onyx Black .

I didn’t buy the whole set though, as I was only looking for specific pieces to use on my induction cooktop. This stainless steel series is also available in separate pieces, such as sauce pans, saute pans, chef pans, and skillets in various sizes.

I have the 3.5-quart saute pan with glass lid. I love it. The glass lid is domed and just perfect for me to check the food cooking inside. The depth is just right for many things, even deep frying. The stockpot is great too, with the same tempered glass lid and very useful, etched measurement markings in the pot.

If you are careful with the heat, the KitchenAid stainless steel skillets work really well for frying and searing meat. The thick bottoms of the pans allow them to heat up evenly and sit on your cooktop nicely. Together with the riveted handle, each pan gleams of high quality.

The metal handles are good if you like recipes that move the food from stove to oven for a finishing touch. They aren’t good when left on the stove for long; they get a bit too warm for comfortable handling.

Remember that with all stainless steel cookware, cleaning may be a problem. Food sticks if you haven’t gotten the temperature right. With the KitchenAid cookware, you can just pop them into the dishwasher after use.

KitchenAid Hard Anodized Nonstick Cookware

KitchenAid KCH2S10KM Professional Hard Anodized Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set On the other hand, you may want to consider the hard anodized non stick KitchenAid KCH2S10KM cookware set. Nonstick cookware is the easiest to wash, nothing sticks, and they’re lighter than stainless steel.

This KitchenAid cookware set is solid and long lasting. I’ve used mine for more than 2 years and they’re not much different from when they were brand new. I love the Y-shape stainless steel riveted handles. They are long and this makes the cookware look really professional. They also stay cooler than those of the stainless steel set.

Another thing I love about this KitchenAid nonstick cookware is the stainless steel base. The base contributes to even heating and adds weight to the pan or pot so that it sits firmly on the stove.

You’ll notice that the non stick surface of these pieces are different from Teflon non stick pans. It may even appear to be less non stick, but eggs do slide off easily and clean up needs less effort than washing a coffee mug.

If you don’t want a full 10-piece set of the hard anodized KitchenAid cookware, I suggest getting the 5-piece set that consists of a 3.5-quart saute pan, 3-quart saucepan and 10-inch skillet. The saute pan and saucepan both come with domed glass lids, and you can actually use the lid of the saute pan for the skillet.

Cuisinart Cookware Reviews

February 24, 2017 By Tina

Cuisinart is one of the top brands for stainless steel cookware. The stainless steel Cuisinart cookware sets are often compared with All Clad cookware , although there is no argument about All Clad being on top of everyone else (for the price as well.)

Cuisinart cookware is the more affordable option for those who have expensive tastes, and will certainly please you if you think of quality before anything else.

Best Cuisinart Cookware

Cuisinart Stainless Steel Cookware

cuisinart multiclad pro There are two main selections for Cuisinart stainless steel cookware, the Multiclad and the Chef’s Classic. The Multiclad Pro is the better set of Cuisinart cookware you can buy, albeit at about $100 difference from the Chef’s Classic recommended below.

If you think it’d be great to have a whole set of cookware that will last a decade long, definitely go for the splurge and get the Multiclad Pro 12-piece set. This Cuisinart cookware set has all the pots and pans you’ll ever need with interchangeable lids, is really sturdy and well-made, and works on all kinds of cooktops.

You may have heard that the best stainless steel cookware is clad with layers of different metals. That’s true. This Cuisinart cookware set has a high quality 18/10 stainless steel inner surface that is non-reactive with food, combined with a layer of aluminum sandwiched in the middle for great heat conductivity, and a magnetic stainless steel exterior that works with induction cooktops. And, this is really important, all three layers run up the sides for a complete and even heating.

So what, you ask. This means no burning spots. Place that piece of chicken breast anywhere on the pan, and you’ll see that it cooks evenly on its flat side. There’s no need to rotate the fritters around the pan to get them all cooked in the same color. Soups and stews boil more quickly and evenly.

The long handles feel really solid and are tightly riveted to the pans. Even after years of use, you won’t feel as if the handle is going to fall off when lifting a full pan of chicken. Long handles stay cool but you’ll need a mitten when handling the short handles on the stockpot and saute pan.

Overall this is an exceptional cookware set, and I would get this Cuisinart set if I’m looking for a high quality stainless steel set that I can afford easily.

Cuisinart Budget Stainless Steel Cookware

Cuisinart Chefs Classic For a budget below $200, the Cuisinart Chef’s Classic range may be a sweeter option. The Chef’s Classic comes in a 10-piece stainless steel set or a hard anodized non stick set of various sizes.

The main difference between this stainless steel Cuisinart cookware set and the Multiclad Pro set is the construction of the pan or pot. While the Multiclad has three layers all around, the Chef’s Classic set only has three layers at the base of the pan or pot. The walls or sides are a single layer of high grade stainless steel. This set is also not induction friendly.

That being said, this Cuisinart cookware set is still a high quality stainless steel cookware with great value for your money.

Both stainless steel sets are dishwasher safe, and anything that doesn’t come off can be easily cleaned with a little help of Bar Keeper’s Friend , which is everyone’s friend really.

Cuisinart Hard Anodized Cookware

Cuisinart Chefs Classic hard anodized cookware The hard anodized nonstick cookware set is easier to use for new cooks, but they’re not something you’d put into the dishwasher even though the manufacturer says you can. You’ll also need to give them the soft utensil and sponge treatment, avoid stacking them or scratching the surfaces in any way. On the bright side, these are very, very easy to wash.

The 11-piece set is a nice size for a 2-3 person home, if you don’t have any existing cookware to start with. Each pot or pan is surprisingly light and manageable, even the large 4-quart saute pan.

The glass lids are a nice touch in this Cuisinart cookware set. I actually prefer these than the opaque covers of the stainless steel sets. If you’re getting a new set of cookware for someone who has just started to cook, consider the hard anodized non stick Cuisinart cookware.
