Love cooking? Then you should definitely get a complete set of cookware for all your cooking adventures, be it from cooking an aromatic chicken casserole, making spaghetti sauce to frying a pancake. Hate cooking? Well you should still get a set, just for the fun of dolling up your kitchen. In any case, if you are looking for affordable cookware, the Cook N Home 10 piece set might just do the trick.
First impressions count. A lot. And this cookware does not disappoint. It’s brightly colored exterior gives it a Christmassy and jolly feel. Makes you want to start cooking right away.
Safe Cooking, Easy Cleaning
The interiors of the pots and pans are also worth mentioning. They have a non stick ceramic coating which boasts to be free from PTFE, PFOA, cadmium and lead. Now I’m no scientist so I have very little idea what they mean but according to Mr Google, it means that the entire cookware is toxic free. No chance of ‘accidentally’ poisoning that annoying neighbor now eh?
The non stick quality also makes cooking and cleaning a breeze. Your eggs will glide out of your pans like a ballerina in Swan Lake and you won’t have to worry about removing remnants of fond blanc from your casserole pot. If anything burnt, just soak the pan in water for a few hours and everything will come off. Definitely don’t put these in the dishwasher.
The cookware also comes with spiral aluminium bases to allow for an even heat distribution while cooking. The covers for the dutch oven, casserole and sauce pans on the other hand are made from clear tempered glass which allow you to view your food as they are cooked even with the covers on. Each cover also comes with a small vent hole to prevent pressure build ups and to allow for steam to escape.
The description ’10 piece cookware’ can be somewhat misleading as it gives off the impression that you have 10 complete cookware pieces and not just 6 with 4 covers.
And because the cookware is of ceramic coating, you’ll need to invest in wooden, plastic or silicon stirrers. You wouldn’t want to end up scratching and chipping your pans and pots with the metal spatulas and whatnot because that would spell the end of the cookware’s life. Seriously. It is inadvisable to continue using the cookware without the ceramic coating as the base is made from aluminum and you wouldn’t want your food touching aluminum, especially at high temperatures (toxic tomato puree anyone?).
Only for the Stove
While the cover’s handles provide a firm grip and do not heat up easily, they might become loose and wobbly over time. Also, the handles aren’t exactly oven and microwave friendly so there’s a limit on what you can use the cookware on. These cookware are also not induction friendly.
All in all, this is a great cooking set. Doesn’t give much trouble and is able to cater to pretty much everything you can dream of cooking (on a stove). The price is considered cheap at less than 70 bucks too. A 4 out of 5 stars for this jolly set. Get it here with free shipping before it runs out.
